QuadrigaCX is an exchange that is allows Canadians to buy Bitcoin and Ethereum. Keep in mind that when you register with a site like QuadrigaCX, you are doing more than providing your personal details but they have strong KYC procedures so you should be expected to prove your identity and proof of address.
Signup to QuadrigaCX
You'll have to enter in an account type (personal), email address, first and last name, date of birth and country of residence. You'll then be asked to create a secure password and add a 6 digit code so be sure to write this down and never forget this information.
Once you have completed the registration process, you'll want to login.
Just login so you can access your dashboard.
Your dashboard shows how much money you have and it's your main section for buying or selling Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Funding & Deposit Options
You'll be given a list of funding options which includes direct bank transfer, Interac Online, Bank Wire, Voucher and Interac e-Transfer. Unfortunately the first 2 options have fees from 1% to 1.5% which is a bit high.
Storing your Bitcoin or Ethereum
You could leave your money inside an exchange as a means of storage but this is something that many experts advise against. If the exchange ever gets hacked or attacked, you don't want to have your ETH or BTC stolen which is the equivalent of bank robbers pulling off a heist. You'll want to consider storing your coins either on your computer which is known as a hot wallet meaning your computer connects to the internet, or cold storage which is on a device that isn't connected to the internet.
